New Ministry hopes to help children
For years, we have heard about the heartbreak of children going to bed hungry and many of us have responded. And I always assumed that once these children were fed they went to a bed like my children did. Because of personal experiences and from speaking to people at Blue Valley Community Action and others I no longer believe this is the case. Some of these children do not have a bed and some even find themselves sleeping on the floor.
The session recently approved Sweet Dreams Ministry to address this need. We invite everyone to take an active role in our churches new ministry to children because it will certainly take everyone in our church to transform this from a vision to a reality.
Each child that is approved will receive a new mattress, box springs and frame. In addition, the bed will come with new sheets, a new pillow, a mattress pad and a blanket. The first few beds will be paid out of the money that is still in the 150th Celebration account and will be this congregation’s gift to the community.
